The Great Gluten-Free Cooking Class Hunt

I personally do not live a gluten-free diet, but I do enjoy many gluten-free dishes on a weekly basis.  I do however, know many people who suffer from a gluten allergy, so I’m always trying to come up with trying new dishes they can eat.  I’m also always browsing the internet for gluten-free cooking classes in the area so I can brush up on my skills.

This class that I found looks pretty awesome:

Flourless & Gluten Free Baking with Alice Medrich

Award winning author of Chewy Gooey Crispy Crunchy Melt in Your Mouth Cookies, Alice Medrich returns to Ramekins to introduce you to the world of flourless and gluten-free baking. A believer that your dessert should never just taste “pretty good for gluten-free,” Alice will demonstrate how to make treats so delicious you’ll never know the difference.

  • Wheat Free Chocolate Chip Cookies
  • Chocolate Almond Tweed Torte
  • Mexican Wedding Cakes with variations
  • Peanut Butter Caramel Swirled Cheesecake Bars
  • Hazelnut Butter Clouds

Hands-on (Limited to 16 Students)

The class is offered at Ramekins, which is a gorgeous cooking school located in Sonoma, aka land of wine and cheese.  I wish SoCal would offer more awesome classes like this.  I’ve seen a few offered at Sur La Table that focus on gluten-free cooking but even those are kind of limited. So I’ve decided to start the Great Gluten-Free Cooking Class Hunt – a quest to find the best gluten-free cooking classes in the Southern California area.  Recommendations/Suggestions are greatly appreciated, so if you know of a good class please let me know!  I’ll be sure to update my progress as I find fun Gluten-Free Cooking Classes to take.

And to any Bay Area readers – you should check out this class at Ramekins (along with other cooking classes they offer).  It looks like it’s going to be quite the yummy event!  Perhaps next time I am up north I will have to check this place out for myself…

Let the hunt begin!
