The Natural Products Expo West is one of the things I look forward to every year. Last year, I had the opportunity to meet with so many wonderful brands and learn more about their products. Unfortunately I couldn’t attend this year, so the wonderful team at WholeMe sent me some of their grain-free products to review. And the best part? Whole Me is a company that focuses on creating healthy snacks that are made with real ingredients and not loaded with preservatives. All of the Whole Me products are made with natural sweeteners and are grain-free, gluten-free and also offer dairy-free and soy-free options which is perfect for anyone on a special diet or who has food sensitivities. I also liked the fact that Whole Me’s products are perishable which means they won’t be going stale on your kitchen shelf.
The first item I tried was the EatMe Cereal. Made with almonds, honey, pepitas, unsweetened coconut, sunflower seeds and coconut oil, this cereal was the perfect grain-free alternative to traditional breakfast cereal.
I enjoyed the cereal with some almond milk for breakfast, but this also makes a great afternoon snack. And I’ll be honest – this cereal is addictive! I kept finding myself grabbing handfuls straight from the bag because it was so good.
In addition to cereal, Whole Me has two snack bars – the WakeMe Bar and the DateMe Bar.
Next up was the WakeMe Bar, made with espresso and cocoa nibs. If you are an espresso fan, then you will definitely love the WakeMe Bar.
I liked this bar because it wasn’t really sweet at all and the espresso flavor was really unique. It’s a great way to get a little extra caffeine boost!
Last but not least was the DateMe Bar, which in my opinion tasted like a delicious slice of carrot cake.
The DateMe Bar is made dates, pecans and almonds and has the perfect balance of sweet and salty. I loved the natural sweetness from the dates and love the fact that the pecans and almonds add a nice balance of healthy fat and protein.
I was really impressed with all of the Whole Me products. The cereal is a perfect paleo breakfast option and both the DateMe and WakeMe bars are perfect snacks on the go or for travel. I’ll definitely be packing some Whole Me goodies in my suitcase when I travel to Maui for my honeymoon in June!
